Case Study: Hobsonville High School

This is the 2nd education project at Hobsonville Point that aquatherm is proud to be involved with.  A year 1-8 Primary School which opened in 2013 and pictured here the new High School currently under construction which will open in 2014.

These two schools are part of the public private partnerships (PPP) established by the Minister of Education which involves infrastructure partners involved in the design, build and finance of the schools and will be responsible for maintaining them through the 25 year contract.

aquatherm products where ideally suited for their longevity, and green positioning required here.  Hanlon Plumbing are involved on both projects with Hawkins Construction (the main contractor) and AECOM (engineering consultants).

The High School is a massive project several hundred metres long and involved Neil Thomson from Hanlon Plumbing and his team installing high level large dimension green and lilac pipes through to gymnasium installations, toilet blocks and all the facilities associated with these large infrastructure projects.  Walraven Rapid Rail, aquatherm's fast connecting bracketing system for PPR, was adopted for all main runs and proved ideal for pre-assembly and fast, simple installation.

Pictured here, a typical pre-assembly of one of the many zones measured, labelled and pre-installed with aquatherm pipe clamps ready for high level application.  Nice processing guys.
