Work is nearly finished on the new alcohol-free 5997sq m Pak 'n'Save Westgate, one of the biggest buildings to rise in the new $1 billion town centre on Auckland's northwestern edge.

The Pak'n'Save is a $30 million project built by Naylor Love. The job has had a great construction programme and has gone up at super speed.

Approximately 30,000 customers will visit Pak'n'Save Westgate each week, and about 1.5 million annually, making it an extremely busy store for the region.

Chenery Contracting Ltd are installing all the green and lilac pipe throughout the three levels of construction. The exposed pipe work throughout the basement level has been installed to ensure that expansion allowance consideration is worked into strategic areas on all lilac, cold and faser hot pipe work so it not only remains straight to the eye but also encompasses many structural beams in the basement area.

Chenery have a number of other projects underway in green, currently with the University of Auckland's new science building to start over the xmas period….that will be a monster for all.
