Shotover Primary School, Queenstown

shotover primary school logo_optIncreased availability of “affordable houses” in the Queenstown area has resulted in a need to provide more schools, particularly in the primary sector (year 1 to 8 students).

Queenstown’s increasing popularity as a tourist destination requires a growing infrastructure to support it.  The latest subdivision, Shotover Country at Frankton, was chosen as the location for this new primary school.

shotover primaryThe Advantage team are currently installing approximately 1-5 km of aquatherm green and aquatherm green fibre pipework.  Cold water main pipe sizes from 50mm with 20mm branches.  Hot water supplied from three plant rooms each serving a particular area (Administration, Learning 1 and Learning 2). 32mm aquatherm green fibre flow & return system with 20mm branches to services.

The buildings are heated by a low temperature underfloor system in conjunction with ducted air. Rayners are using approximately 500metres of 110mm aquatherm blue fibre flow & return pipework to connect to the underfloor manifolds.

Stage 1a, scheduled to open in term one 2015, will include two ''learning communities'' and the administration block, with Stage 1b to open later next year with another three learning communities.
