For the last 6 months, Plumbing Works has been working alongside Hawkins Construction at Waiariki Institute of Technology in the new health and science blocks.

The new science block is equipped with 24 working benches and a lab prep area. In the health block there is a nursing area which has a mock up of a hospital nursing ward, along with multiple toilet areas and student cafes.

The Walraven support system has made it easy to run multiple long straight runs of pipe including lilac for non potable systems.

The use of Aquatherm green and lilac gave clear advantages over traditional systems in Rotorua. The atmosphere in Rotorua can have severe consequences on traditional materials whereas aquatherm does not need any special protection treatment.

Hamish Murphy from Plumbing Works says "we have enjoyed using aquatherm at Waiariki as it is easy to get straight and tidy in all our exposed ceiling areas."
