Avantidrome, Cambridge

AvantidromeConstruction of the $28.5m Home of Cycling Velodrome, known as the Avantidrome, has begun in Cambridge.

The realization of this project has provided an immediate boost to the local economy with two more local companies signing on as project partners, joining local builder and main construction partner, Livingstone Building Ltd.

Home of Cycling Chief Executive Geoff Balme says “we are delighted that two large local businesses are now involved with and benefiting from this project. With at least 50% of the $28.5m funding for the project coming from outside of the Waikato, it is a great economic development story for Waikato businesses such as APL, Porters and Livingstone Building. This is work these companies would probably have never seen had the project gone to another region.”

This is already a success story in so many ways with local businesses reaping economic benefits as they deliver a project that will have significant outcomes for our local, regional and national community.
